Abstract

Late Proterozoic unmetamorphosed rocks on the Stuart Shelf. Two major styles of base metal sulfide mineralization: sandstone-hosted deposits associated with the Pandurra Formation and stratiform dolostone-mudstone-hosted deposits in the Tapley Hill Formation. The concentration of Cu-Pb-Zn mineralization supports the hypothesis that mineralizing fluids flowed up through major zones of crustal weakness and precipitated as Cu-Pb-Zn sulfides in chemically and structurally favorable beds.--Modified journal abstract.
