Abstract

Geochemical anomaly separation, using concentration–area method at Zarshuran Au–As deposit, NW Iran, is studied in this work. Lithogeochemical dataset was used in this geochemical survey, which was conducted for exploring Au mineralization in green schist units at Zarshuran Carlin-like gold deposit. Similar surveys were also carried out for Ag and As exploration in these rock units, and obtained results have been interpreted using detailed geological mapping. The correlation between these threshold values and ore grades is clearly interpreted in this investigation. Also, the logarithmic plots show existence of two stages for Au, Ag, and As. According to the SEM studies, it can be concluded that the proposed algorithm is verified technically in order to identify economically valuable Au concentrations in the area under study.
