Abstract
SUMMARY Fertile turkey eggs were dipped in aqueous solutions of gentamicin sulfate by temperature-differential (TD) and pressure-differential (PD) methods and were assayed individually with and without shell. With dipping in 500 ppm gentamicin solutions, gentamicin concentrations averaged 1.5 ,ug per ml of content (range 0.4-2.7 Mg) by the TD method, and 1.2 ,ug (range 0.4-2.7 ,g) by the PD method. Variation in levels in individual eggs was less in PD than in TD eggs. Absorption of gentamicin appeared less when quaternary ammonium was present.
