Abstract

Abstract An important feature of disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis is the propensity to invade the meninges. Much progress has been made in our understanding of how this pathogen circumvents the physical properties of this cellular barrier. This review will address the new possibilities offered by the recent availability of meningococcal genome sequences.
