Abstract

Aims: Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is an aggressive T-cell lymphoma caused by the HTLV-1 virus with frequent skin involvement. HTLV-1 carriers are found in endemic regions which include south-west Japan, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Africa. Somatic mutations and copy number variations in ATLL have not been documented in the US, Central and South America. We examined a population of ATLL cases from the US, Central and South America, and Spain using a whole-genome copy number microarray based assay.
