Abstract

Pseudalkalibacillus hwajinpoensis strain MABIK MI00000821 isolated from seawater exhibited inhibitory activity against the fumonisin production of Fusarium fujikuroi. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of the strain MABIK MI00000821 obtained using the PacBio RSII system. The genome comprises a single circular chromosome 4,369,347 bp in length, with an average GC content of 40.1%. Genome annotation predicted 4,351 protein-coding genes, 27 rRNA genes, and 89 tRNA genes. Moreover, the MABIK MI00000821 genome harbors five putative biosynthetic gene clusters responsible for secondary metabolites, including terpenes, a polyketide, and a siderophore. This genome sequence will contribute to a better understanding of the fumonisin inhibitory mechanism of the P. hwajinpoensis strain. [Formula: see text] Copyright © 2024 The Author(s).
