Abstract

the urinary tract in pregnancy. In the treatment section, there is a great chapter on applied pharmacology, which is exhaustive and contemporary. Plevnik and Vodusek cover electrical stimulation from a vantage point of 30 years of experience. The chapter on bladder drainage is excellent. In addition, there are chapters on laparoscopy, a well illustrated chapter on urinary diversion and undiversion, an excellent guide to urinary protective devices and pads, and a good chapter on physiotherapy. In the last section of the book are some excellent chapters on education, organization of community services for incontinence and where we stand now in urogynecology. There are also chapters on standardized terminology for urodynamics, urogynecology, pelvic floor evaluation and urodynamic tests. This large undertaking is well done, and will be useful as a reference and for immediately applicable clinical information. Edward J.
