Abstract

Both common and rare genetic variants contribute to childhood neuropsychiatric disorders (NPs) such as ADHD, OCD, and ASD. Nevertheless, many questions remain. What is the role of copy number variants (CNVs) to NPs? What is the genetic basis of the commonly observed comorbidity of ADHD with other mental illnesses such as ASD? Are genetic effects mediated by cognitive deficits? Can genetic findings be translated to improve precision medicine?
