Abstract
The different substitution lines and genotypes behaved differently in their biomass yield and nutrient uptake. Plant height, number of productive tillers, straw yield and number of earhead were more in substitution lines than the mother cultivars and check wheat genotypes. Yield of different substitution lines were lower than in check genotypes. The contents of N, P and K in plant parts of shoot, straw and grain were more in substitution lines than the check genotypes. No marked differences were observed in the contents of Ca, Na and Mn both in the lines and genotypes.
