Abstract

SummaryInvestigations carried out in many populations on the genetics of total ridge count of fingers have shown that the trait is determined mainly by additive genes. However, the phenotypic variance differs among the populations. In the present investigation, the genetics of total finger ridge count in the Telaganya Brahmin population of Andhra Pradesh, India, has been studied in detail and compared with the earlier results.
