Abstract

The hydrocarbon compositions of oils sampled from collectors of Paleozoic and Jurassic ages in the southeast of the West Siberian Oil and Gas Basin are considered in this work. Based on the interpretation of the distribution of the molecular parameters, the studied samples were divided into four genetic groups with similar coefficient values. Analysis of the hydrocarbon distribution allowed us to identify the type of organic matter, the source for oil formation and the conditions of its accumulation, and the conditions of early diagenesis. In addition, an attempt to determine the ages of the source rocks was made.
