Abstract

Through the advent of recombinant DNA technology, genetic engineering has emerged as a crucial step in the development of industrial bioprocesses. Accordingly, genetic engineering techniques such as molecular cloning and recombinant DNA technology, molecular manipulations, and cellular manipulations constitute the fundamental aspects of this article. In addition, relevant genetic engineering applications, namely, metabolic engineering and synthetic biology, are introduced, including key examples and advances pertaining to the field of biotechnology.
