Abstract
Olive Stevenson is Professor Emeritus of Social Work at the University of Nottingham. She was the first editor of the British Journal of Social Work from 1971 to 1974. Her professional and academic interests have been in child welfare, in particular child protection, and in the care of vulnerable adults. She has researched and published widely in these fields. She has chaired five Area Child Protection Committees and been involved in many Serious Case Reviews. Inter agency and inter-professional working has been a particular focus of interest. Her most recent research has been on the sexual abuse of older people (2003-04).
