Abstract

In this article we study oscillation and nonoscillation of the solutions of linear delay differential equations. We define generic oscillation and generic nonoscillation as a topological assessment of the extent of oscillatory or nonoscillatory solutions of a delay differential equation. We provide sufficient conditions for both phenomena based on the roots of the characteristic equation and concrete conditions for some special cases.
