Abstract
A generic geo-tagged social-economic investigation and monitoring system is proposed in this paper. Based on web 2.0, GIS, web mapping and GPS technology, the system contains data collection modules in web and mobile environment, desktop GIS analysis module. It integrates several geo-tagging methods which can directly link survey data with spatial data. It provides a survey template markup language and can serve as an online designer of survey template as well as report forms including lots of indicators for domain experts. It can serve as tools of collecting social-economic information through web-browser and mobile equipment for investigators. It also server as tools of visualizing and monitoring the spatial pattern, diversity as well as growing trend in an integrative spatial-temporal manner for GIS analysts and sociologists.
