Abstract
Triggered by digitization and Industrie 4.0, business model innovation becomes increasingly important. Various innovative services are developed by companies in the field of machinery and plant engineering but a comprehensive description of respective business models is missing. Based on an in-depth literature analysis and a systematic deduction of constituting features, this paper generically describes service-related business models in the field of machinery and plant engineering. The description can support companies in the development and implementation of product-service systems and related business models. It is integrated into the Business Model Canvas framework in order to structure the elements of a service-related business model.
