Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is an influence of Self-disclosure and Extraversion Personality on Generation Z Interpersonal Communication Skills in Jakarta. The research method used is a quantitative method by conducting a survey distributing questionnaires to respondents. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The respondents used in this study were Generation Z with an age range of 17-23 years and domiciled in Jakarta with a total sample size of 400 respondents. The theory used in this study is the theory of social penetration, where this theory discusses how a closeness develops in an interpersonal relationship, where the development of closeness can be done by disclosing information about oneself and one's personality type. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of Self-disclosure and Personality Extraversion on Interpersonal Communication Skills of Generation Z in Jakarta with a sufficient level of correlation. The better the self-disclosure and extraversion personality of generation Z, the interpersonal communication skills of generation Z will also improve.
