Abstract

Using the transfer matrix method, this article proposes a novel single -mode plasma fiber in the applicable terahertz frequency range. Accordingly, by examining the two theoretical models, an applied model is designed that has a very loss-discrimination rate, even up to 500 between the desired mode and unwanted modes, and imposes a very low loss on the transmitted modes. The theoretical results of the present paper indicate that the proposed fiber can examine empirically to find the low-loss single -mode terahertz fibers which are especially utilizable in biological and security imaging systems where the short waveguiding distance is required.
