Abstract

A stable dissipative soliton (DS) erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser passively mode locked by InSb saturable absorber (SA) is achieved for the first time. The used InSb SA is prepared by magnetron-sputtering deposition (MSD) method based on tapered fiber. The achieved stable dissipative soliton (DSs) possess a central wavelength of 1570 nm, pulse duration of 25.14 ps, repetition rate of 14.91 MHz, and a maximum average output power of 11.57 mW, respectively. The experiment verifies the merits of high thermal damage resistance, superb long-term stability and excellent antioxidant capacity of the prepared InSb SA, as well enriches in-depth DSs researches based on 2D-material SAs.
