Abstract

We propose a mechanism of generating very high harmonics at moderate laser intensities by transmission of electrons in a thin crystal. Results of nonperturbative Floquet-Bloch calculations show the possibility of controlling the height and range of high-harmonic spectra through the mechanism of interband resonances at suitable energies of the incident electrons and/or intensity of the laser field.
