Abstract

This paper proposes a method of generating a laser output of an arbitrary transverse shape in an end-pumped solid-state digital laser. The laser output of arbitrary shape light field distribution is decomposed and approximated by the superposition of a multi-point Gaussian beam. The generation of the laser output with arbitrary transverse shape is achieved by the generation of a multi-point Gaussian field in a digital laser. The proposed method is validated by finding a converged oscillating optical field in a numerical simulated digital laser cavity, using Endo’s method.
