Abstract
The known recursion relationship for the partition functionp(n) which represents the number of partitions of the positive integernis exhibited as the limit asq→∞ in one identity and as the case 1 substituted forqin a second formula that arise from a matrix problem over the field ofqelements. Such identities can be further generalized.
