Abstract

Thermal conductivity measurements available in the literature, for 23 fluids in their dense gaseous and liquid states, have been used to develop the generalized relationship for excess thermal conductivity. Calculated thermal conductivities relating to these 23 substances which include monatomic, diatomic and polyatomic fluids and hydrocarbons of all types have been compared with corresponding experimental measurements to produce an overall average deviation of 3.87% (1111 points) for all fluid conditions through the compressed liquid state.
