Abstract

A new formulation is given of the nonlinear integrodifferential equation which determines the phase difference in large tunnel Josephson junctions having high critical current densities and electrode losses. On the basis of the general theory the viscous motion of a single vortex ( kink) in a one-dimensional current-carrying Josephson contact is investigated analytically.
