Abstract

To the Editor: Nephrogenic fibrosing dermopathy (NFD) is an acquired, idiopathic disorder associated with renal disease.1,2 Patients typically present with areas of thickened skin with indurated, symmetric, painful papules and plaques affecting the extremities and trunk with sparing of the face.2,3 Additionally, flexion contractures can develop limiting range of motion.2 Although not commonly associated with systemic manifestations, one report describes systemic involvement with extensive fibrosis and calcification of the diaphragm, psoas muscle, renal tubules, and rete testes.
