Abstract

A general, type of cross-coupling between glide and hardening on different slip-systems is proposed. Its implications in regard to the character of the connexion between the overall stress-rate and strain-rate in multislip are investigated. Uniqueness theorems and extremal properties are established in respect both of the overall constitutive law itself and any boundary-value problem for non-uniform deformation of a single crystal or aggregate.
