Abstract

The correlation analysis of data on the equilibrium constants of formation of various charge-transfer complexes (Ke) in various solvents shows that the solvent polarity alone does not provide sufficiently reliable description of the process. An adequate correlation between Ke and solvent properties can be obtained only with combined consideration of the capability of solvents for specific and nonspecific solvation.
