Abstract

This article looks at the legal liability of a specialist nurse in relation to the general nurse who has invited her advice on the care of the patient. It considers the law relating to negligent advice and the concept of vicarious liability. It also looks at the dangers which could result from the specialist nurse taking over basic care of the patient as general nurses become deskilled.
