Abstract

An efficient method based on generalised structure tensor is presented to detect infrared small targets under complex sky backgrounds. The second conjugate symmetry derivative of a 2D Gaussian is applied to the orientation field to model the small target and the final target detection is accomplished by adaptive segmentation. Experiments show that the method is robust.
