Abstract

The paper describes a new switch model based on the associated discrete circuit (ADC) models. The switch model enables a switching circuit to be modelled by a constant admittance matrix, irrespective of its switching state. This feature allows a system with changing topology to be modelled efficiently and elegantly by one set of model equations, and a reduction of circuit formulation and computing time. The switch model is applied to the simulation of a half-bridge switched-mode circuit. Experimental results confirm the validity of the new switch model.
