Abstract

This paper presents a new multi-wing chaotic system and its control. Methods of construction of multi-wing attractors are analysed for a class of multi-wing chaotic systems. The nonlinear functions used in this class of systems are generalised. The generalised form is then used to design a new multi-segment even symmetric nonlinear function, and the same is used to develop a new multi-wing chaotic system. The Lyapunov exponents are calculated and confirm the chaotic nature of the new multi-wing system. Finally, a quasi integral sliding mode controller is designed to regulate the states of the new multi-wing chaotic system in the presence of matched bounded disturbances. The simulation results reveal that the designed controller is working satisfactorily in the presence of various types of bounded disturbances.
