Abstract
This chapter describes general synthetic routes of mesoporous materials, in particular, with focusing mesoporous silicas; Synthesis methods of mesoporous materials include sol-gel method, template assisted technique, liquid crystal template approach (LCTA), microwave assisted technique, and chemical etching technique. This chapter also deals with more details on the templates, basic and acidic synthesis, temperature, removal of template, nonaqueous synthesis, mesophase tailoring, morphology and modification of mesoporous silicas.
