Abstract

Pseudoparticle solutions to the Yang-Mills field theory of the SO(4) gauge group in Euclidean four-space [and of the SO(3,1) gauge group in Minkowski space] have been studied following the differential equations set up by Hwa. All the possible solutions are found and discussed. It is noted that all the additional solutions are irregular at the origin. We conclude therefore that Hwa's solutions in fact exhaust all acceptable pseudoparticle solutions for the Yang-Mills theory for the gauge and space group combinations considered.
