Abstract
General considerations concerning the idea of generating mechanism are set forth. This notion is supposed to be an effective method of study of characteristics and properties of a gear meshing. A detailed investigation of a gearing consisting of bevel gears with lowering teeth generated by means of plane-topped generating gears, is considered on the principle of generating mechanism. The gear axes of rotation intersect at right angle. The teeth side surfaces of the generating gears are planes.
