AbstractProperty, Real Estate & Development (MIC: 8.3 SIC: 6798 NAIC: 525930)General Growth Properties is a self‐administered and self‐managed real estate investment trust. Co.'s business is focused in two main areas: Retail and Other, which includes the operation, development and management of retail and other rental property, mainly shopping centers; and Master Planned Communities, which includes the development and sale of land, mainly in community development projects in and around Columbia, MD; Summerlin, NV; and Houston, TX. At Dec 31 2006, Co. had ownership interest in or management responsibility for over 200 regional shopping malls in 44 states in the U.S., and owned non‐controlling interests in international joint ventures in Brazil, Turkey and Costa Rica.
