Abstract
Unemployment is among the global problems of the modern era. Unemployment is a problem that even healthy economies face, and it is a medical phenomenon. The article contains information about unemployment and theories related to it, including types of unemployment, unemployment rate measurement methodology, Phillips curve. In addition, the state regulation and economic and psychological effects of unemployment in our republic were analyzed. Purpose: The goal is to analyze and compare the opinions of individual theorists with a conceptual approach to unemployment. Methodology – Economic-statistical and historical approach methods were used during the research. Findings: The results of the research – the effective methods used in the world experience in the field of labor market regulation are used in Azerbaijan. In addition to the positive aspects of the labor market regulation models that exist in the world, there are also negative aspects, and there is a need for state regulation in this area.
