Abstract
The 36th IEEE International Nuclear and Space Radiation Effects Conference (NSREC) was held from July 12-16, 1999 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel in Norfolk, Virginia. The NSREC is recognized as one of the premier international symposia on radiation effects in electronic materials, devices, and systems. The 1999 edition of the conference built on this tradition with a strong technical program, a short course, a Radiation Effects Data Workshop, and a large industrial exhibit. The conference was sponsored by the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (Radiation Effects Committee), the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Sandia National Laboratories, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
