Abstract
Life's a beach: sister Linda Scotter and modern matron Mick Grant have been helping holiday makers in Yorkshire avoid A&E this summer by setting up a beachside accident station. The two emergency nurses from Scarborough Hospital have also been patrolling the local beach giving health advice, treating small cuts and giving tetanus jabs to swimmers who have been stung by jellyfish. It is estimated that they have reduced the number of people attending A&E by up to a fifth.
