Abstract

This study aimed to measure gender sensitivity and collect experiences of gender by Monash University nursing students. Domestic students ‘Gender Role Ideology of Health Professionals’ subscale scores were lower, demonstrating less stereotypical views of health professionals. Students requested diverse gender-related content and experiences, and more inclusive expression of gendered language and pronouns. Implementing student recommendations would develop a more inclusive healthcare workforce and ensure a safer learning environment for all students.
