Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of men and women in carrying out their roles in families This research has conducted in Kampong Naga, Neglasari Village, Tasikmalaya regency. The research method that being used is observation and interviews and the data analysis is using descriptive- analysis methods. The conclusion of this research that can be drawn from this study is 1) there is a distribution of work based on gender between men and women which is categorized as domestic, economic and social activitiesl; 2) there are stereotypes about male masculinity related to the distribution of work; 3) generally, the perception of the roles of men and women are complementing each other in other words the men are not dominating and the women also not being subordinate.
