Abstract

This research is motivated by unusual characterizations in mummy-themed films in general. The mummy figure who is usually portrayed as a man who in the past was an evil and cruel ruler, in the film The Mummy is described as a female figure. Women are figures that are always interesting to talk about. Women are figures who have two sides. On the one hand, women are beauty, and on the other hand are considered weak helpless beings, some people assume that wherever a woman's position will never be equal to men no matter how she tries. The purpose of this research is to find out the elements of feminism in the film The Mummy which can then be used as a reference for other studies. The methodology used is a qualitative method where the data collection techniques are taken from the analysis of the structure of the film using the theory of literary feminism and several theories to analyze the structure. This phenomenon is interesting to study using a feminist approach in the form of gender prejudice because there are several bad stereotypes against female mummies in this film. The results showed that women could not get as much power as men because he was a woman. The results of this study are in the form of data containing elements of feminism in the film, especially in The Mummy.
