Abstract
Research Article| September 01 2017 Gender Field Experience, Method and Theory Ifi Amadiume Ifi Amadiume Dartmouth College Ifi Amadiume is professor of religion at Dartmouth College and the former chair of the AAAS. She has taught courses in the Department of Religion, the Women and Gender Studies Program, the African and African American Studies Program (AAAS), and the Department of Anthropology. She received a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of London. Her scholarly publications include Daughters of the Goddess, Daughters of Imperialism: African Women, Culture, Power and Democracy; Male Daughters, Female Husbands: Gender and Sex in an African Society; African Matriarchal Foundations: The Igbo Case; and Reinventing Africa: Matriarchy, Religion and Culture. She is also a widely published writer and poet, including four books of poetry: Passion Waves; Ecstasy; Circles of Love; and Voices Draped in Black.
