Abstract

This study aims to investigate gender differences between Malaysian international school students in grade four on their mathematics performance in higher order thinking skills. The sample of this study consists of 60 grade four students. The instrument used in this study includes 27 items abstracted from Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) grade four released mathematics items under the cognitive domain of applying and reasoning. The results of this study revealed that there is no significant gender difference on mathematics performance in higher order thinking that is the applying skills, reasoning skills and both it.
