This article compares the similarities and differences of the two genders in the area of achievement aspiration. They have expounded the reasons why female achievement aspirations differ from those of males. The most noteworthy of these explanations is Horner's achievement motivation theory. Horner's psychological studies (1968, 1972) pointed out that the reason the females' achievement aspirations are lower is because they have a stronger fear of success.
