Abstract

The gender gap in agriculture is perceived worldwide. It signifies that farm women have less access to resources, finance, capital and advisory services compared to men. Gender Analysis is a tool to better understand the realities of the women and men, girls and boys whose lives are impacted by planned development. The Harvard Analytical Framework was one of the first frameworks designed for gender analysis. Women’s practical gender needs may include water provision, health-care provision, opportunities for earning, provision of housing, distribution of food, etc. which are shared by all household members. The Gender Analysis Matrix was developed by Rani Parker for planning, designing, monitoring, and evaluating projects at a community level.
