Abstract

Congregation, Network, Culture: The Relevance/Significance of Church Institutions and Church-related Institutions. The article presents a network research of a complete congregation which was undertaken by the Fifth Church Membership Study of the Protestant Church in Germany. Specifics of network research are highlighted in regards to the example. Especially the exchange of micro-cultures of the network groups via the bridging by members in two groups are to be noticed. In this context such groups are specifically relevant which by many of their members reach beyond the inner circle of the highly church-related individuals.
