Abstract

The temperature-dependent properties of aqueous solutions of a triblock copolymer of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO), with composition EO 21PO 47EO 21, have been measured by use of viscoelastic techniques and scanning calorimetry. Unimer-micelle equilibrium exists at low temperatures and two sol to gel transitions are observed with increasing temperatures. The elastic moduli of the gel states are attributed to increasing exposure of hydrophobic groups to water with strain.
