Abstract

Large single crystals of complexes of oxamic acid with Pb 2+, Cd 2+ and Ca 2+ have been prepared in silica gels and characterized by chemical analysis, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. In addition, crystals of Cd(C 2O 4)·3H 2O have been obtained by “in situ” hydrolysis of oxamic to oxalic acid. The influence of different parameters on the growth process have been examined.
