Abstract

GeAPSO-34 molecular sieves were successfully synthesized with various Ge stoichiometries and used as catalysts in the conversion of methanol to olefins (MTO). The XRD and SEM characterizations proved that the presence of Ge species in the initial gel could accelerate the nucleation and crystallization of the zeolites. The XRD and XRF results indicated that the Ge element has been incorporated into the CHA frame structure of GeAPSO-34. NH3-TPD results showed relatively weak acidity and less acid sites for Ge-incorporated samples. Compared with SAPO-34, GeAPSO-34 showed improved light olefins selectivity in MTO reaction.
