Abstract

Explicit quadrature formulae of Gauss, Radau and Lobatto type are found for spaces of polynomial splines of degree 1 (arbitrary knots) and 2 (the case of equidistant knots). Error analysis for the Sobolev spaces W ∞ r , r = 2,3 is given. It is shown that the Gauss type quadratures for splines with equidistant knots are asymptotically optimal.
